NO CHOIR PRACTICE TONIGHT!
There will be no choir practice tonight.

Special Thanks
Many thanks to all who helped with our Ladies Spring Banquet. It takes all of
us working together to accomplish God's will. A special thanks to David Geci,
Mark Hobbs and Mike Norfleet for keeping the Nursery for the children during
our Program at the Banquet.

Our guest speaker Mrs. Kathleen Blankenship was such a blessing. She
challenged us to extend kindness in all areas of our life, wherever we are
the workplace, shopping, driving and expecially at home to the people
we love the most. And to be a witness for our Savior wherever we go.

Romans Study Starts in May
Brother Jack Field gave us a great introduction to the book of Romans on
Wednesday evening. If you would like a CD, just fill out a CD request card.
Our verse by verse study will continue this Wednesday with Romans 1:1-17.

Piano Fund Update
Thanks to your generosity, our Piano Fund now stands at $3,420. Please
consider a gift to this fund and help us reach our goal of $5,000 for a studio
quality upright piano. Simply write "Piano Fund" on your check or envelope.

Remember, Missions Sunday is the 3rd Sunday of each month.

No Services Tonight!

Hearing Assistance Available
Just a reminder that we have devices for hearing assistance available to you
during all services. The very discrete unit can fit in your pocket and is has a
volume control to adjust the sound up or down to meet your needs. Pastor Summerson
only asks that you don't turn him off completely! :-) See Brother James Tucker
if you would like more info.

FREE CDs!
Don't forget our CDs are now FREE. Just fill out the card in the pew and
pass it to Brother James Tucker or Brother Mike Norfleet and we'll turn them around
as soon as possible.

Pray for Laborers
We need more laborers for our Church to continue to grow and go forward.
Here are some opportunities for service:

  • Van drivers and helpers for Wednesday night youth programs
  • Someone to ride van to help pick up children for Sunday morning
  • Help for Patch Club to Wednesday evenings
  • Nursery workers

(Please see our Pastor if you are willing to help)

Inclement Weather Announcements
Don't forget in case of inclement weather, please call the church office (233-2233) to find
out about any changes or cancellations for services. We plan to have this information
on the answering machine two hours prior to service time.

Also you may call any of the following individuals directly: Pastor Jim Summerson,
Bill Dixon, Mike Norfleet. In addition, once changes or cancellations have been decided,
they will be placed on the front page of the church Web site.

Devotion Books & Dailey Bible Reading Guides Available
Our Dailey Bread devotional books are on the table in the foyer. There are also some
Guides to reading the Bible through in one year - both the "Beginning-to-End" methond
and the "Chronological Order" methods are available. Please take one.".

Tape Ministry
We have now installed a CD recorder capability in our sound system and can offer
sermons on CDs as well as cassettes. CDs provide better sound quality and are
50% cheaper. We still ask that you chip in $1 to cover the cost of the CD or cassette.
Just see Dan Cottrell with your request and indicate your preference of CD or cassette.

Sunday Evening Offerings
Haven has always had one offering on Sunday mornings but none during any of the other
services during the week except for special speakers or singers. It has been requested
that we have an offering on Sunday evenings as well so those who were not able to attend
on Sunday morning will have the opportunity to give their tithes and offerings on Sunday night.
So beginning this evening, we will have a Sunday evening offering in addition to our normal
Sunday morning offering.

Missions Sunday
is the last Sunday of each month. Please remember your faith promise pledge
in support of the FWB missions.

Parking Information
We would like to encourage all our members to remember to park to the side
and behind the church to allow our visitors access to parking spaces
in the front and closest to the entrance of the church. This is especially
true for Sunday mornings when we have the most visitors. Thank you.
