WHO WILL BE SAVED DURING THE TRIBULATION?
TEXT: Revelation 7:1-17
INTRODUCTION
- Chapter 7 is a Parenthetical Chapter
- Takes place somewhere during the Opening of the First Six Seals
- "Were we to omit Chapter 7 reading from 6:17 to 8:1, we would have a running narrative and a completed picture of the seal judgements." (Vallowe)
- JUDGEMENT IS SUSPENDED
- Prayer is Answered - Hab. 3:2
- Prophecy is Fulfilled - Romans 9:1-4; 10:1; 11:1-2, 25-26
- Angels are Used
- Suspend judgement
- Sealing of God's Elect
- Anti-Christ has his counterfiet seal. Revelation 13:16-18 (If you have the seal of God, you'll recognize the seal of Satan.
- JEWS ARE SEALED
- This is not the Church
- Church is in Heaven
- Church is neither Jew nor Gentile - Ephesians 2:11-18; Galatians 3:27-28
- These are Jews
- Answer to Habakkuk's prayer - Habakkuk 3:2
- Fulfillment of Romans 9-11
- Fulfillment of Matthew 24:14
- It is clearly stated that they are from the 12 Tribes of Israel
- Tribe of Dan is Replaced by Manassah
- The Seal of God
- Mark of identification of divine possession, protection and preservation
- Holy Spirit is our Seal - Ephesians 1:13, 4:30
- Purpose - v.3
- GENTILES ARE SAVED - 9-17 [And Jews]
- Follows God's Plan - Romans 1:16
- Fulfillment of Isaiah's Prophecy 49:8-12
- What about those Who Had Ample Opportunity?
2 Thessalonians 2:10-12
CONCLUSION
In chapter seven we see a prophet's prayer answered, an apostle's prophecy fulfilled and a remnant saved.
