Coronavirus Update – March 21, 2020

The Haven Church leadership team continues to monitor and take action based on the ever-evolving Coronavirus situation.  Last Sunday morning, we did hold our Morning Worship services at the church, and we were actually covered by the News and Observer at this link.  As the situation is continuing to progress, we have decided to facilitate all Worship Services online only at their regularly scheduled times for now.
We do have some exciting news about a new platform we are employing for an interactive teaching experience.   Beginning Tuesday night March 17, we utilized the Zoom Video Meetings platform to host the WinGS Ladies’ Bible Study with 10 ladies attending!   We will continue this study weekly, and we will also leverage Zoom for our Young Adult Sunday School class every Sunday at 10:00 am.  Of course everyone is welcome to join this class, regardless of age!  Youth Pastor Kevin Banberger will also share video updates for our youth starting Sunday, March 22 by 10 am.   Of course, the youth continue to stay connected in real time using the Band app.
Here’s a summary of our service times and platforms going forward:

We have had several inquiries into church giving.  We are asking everyone not to put tithe and offering checks in the mail.  Since we’re not at the church every day there is a risk that your gifts could be stolen from the mailbox.  We highly recommend our Realm secure on-line giving platform at to continue your giving to Haven Church.  If you’re new to Realm, you can click Register Now and our Treasurer, David will get you set up quickly.   We are reminded that the Church is not a place, but it is the body of Christ – the people of God!   We continue to encourage all of our members and friends to take caution, use common sense, and take appropriate measures to help curtail the spread of the virus.  In the meantime, let us continue to trust our Savior, Jesus Christ all the more during this time of uncertainty.
